Modern cars are increasingly equipped with CAN FD networks. CAN FD (Controller Area Network with Flexible Data-Rate) is a new automotive network that surpasses the classic CAN protocol. It offers faster and more efficient data processing and is essential for the complex electronic systems in many modern vehicles.
Beijer saw this development coming well ahead of time, and after years of research, development and testing, introduced the BCI Next Gen (BCI-NG). In addition to the classic CAN protocols, this new generation of CAN interfaces also supports CAN FD and is ready for the many challenges in the field of sustainability, security and reliability that the global automotive sector faces. Just like the current BCI, the BCI-NG meets all approval tests in accordance with the relevant international and national regulations.
The BCI Next Gen has the same variants as the current BCI (BCI-2, BCI-6, BCI-8), but distinguishes itself through a number of unique features.

What does that mean for you as a customer?
The BCI Next Gen will be available in the course of 2025 and will gradually replace the current BCI. For a smooth transition, the current BCI will remain in our range for a while after that introduction. In the coming months we will keep you informed about the introduction of the BCI Next Gen via our website, social media channels and newsletter (you can register at the bottom of this page).
