In 2012 we were last present, but this year Beijer was once again represented at the Automechanika in Frankfurt. With participants from 175 countries, it is the world’s largest trade fair covering the entire value chain of the automotive aftermarket. From 10 to 14 September, Beijer could be found in the Festhalle, at the RAI Automotive NL pavilion together with leading Dutch companies in the automotive industry. This year, topics such as the future of mobility, sustainability, AI and automation were central.
Beijer looks back on a successful week in which many new contacts were made and interesting discussions were held about the future of the automotive aftermarket. During the fair, we introduced, among other things, a new generation of Beijer CAN Interfaces: the BCI Next Gen (BCI-NG) with CAN FD support and we brought the Beijer CAN Library to the attention.
BCI Next Gen
One of the most important features of the new Beijer CAN Interface Next Generation is CAN FD support. CAN FD (Controller Area Network with Flexible Data-Rate) is a new automotive network that goes beyond the classic CAN protocol. It offers faster and more efficient data processing and is essential for the complex electronic systems in many modern vehicles. In addition to the fact that the new generation of CAN interfaces is CAN FD compatible, it is also ready for the many challenges in the field of sustainability, security and reliability that the global automotive sector faces.
Beijer CAN Library
In addition to the BCI Next Gen, visitors could also get acquainted with the Beijer CAN Library, a software-based CAN solution (CAN as a service) that can be integrated into an automotive aftermarket system or application. The advantage of this is that no additional hardware is required and you get access to all CAN data that Beijer has collected over the past 30 years. The entire integration process from idea to demonstration in hardware can be taken care of by Beijer and due to the scalability and flexibility of the Beijer CAN Library and the easy adjustment of the number of desired signals, it is also very suitable for future application development.
