The so-called CHARM-project (Common Highways Agency Rijkswaterstaat Model) aims to create a flexible, open, modular high level ICT architecture for traffic management centres (TMC’s). The English and Dutch road network operators Highways Agency and Rijkswaterstaat have awarded a contract to Beijer Automotive to undertake a feasibility study for support of cooperative Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) functions. Beijer Automotive, as one of the contractors, will deploy its technology and vehicle sensor data in the CHARM-project.
