The tachograph replacement unit has the same pin assignment as a regular tachograph. The unit does not require a DIN lock and can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle. Via its GPS receiver, the device receives a time, date and vehicle speed information signal and forwards it to the CAN bus, eliminating the need for the regular tachograph.
